Hypax VCI-CONCENTRATE is a highly concentrated Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor package developed for diluting in oil or solvent to impart anti-corrosion properties in the enclosed vapour space for mixed metals, difficult to reach and protect with an anticorrosive film. Hypax TEA CONCENTRATE also functions as a contact corrosion inhibitor.

Application

Hypax VCI CONCENTRATE is used diluted at 20 – 30% in mineral or natural oils (typically 1 part to 2) as an additive for anti-corrosive oils in sealed containers such as fuel tanks on new motor vehicles. The additive will protect from corrosion and is ash-less. This means it will mix with fuel and burn away cleanly and completely when the vehicle tank is filled and used.

The additive can also be used to protect the internals of drilling pipe and any other enclosed metal articles. It cannot however be used in outside or exposed environments since it is emulsifiable, this does however make it easy to remove.

Packaging

Hypax VCI CONCENTRATE is available in 170 Kg steel drums and 1000 litre IBCs or as required by the customer. The recommended shelf life of this product is 1 year.
