Hypax 1230 AR
Corrosion Preventive
Additive package for
acid fume resistance
Product description
Hypax 1230 AR (acid resist) is a specially developed additive package for use in formulating corrosion preventives.
It is used to formulate soft corrosion preventive films with excellent resistance to corrosion in acid atmospheres such as pickling shops, other acidic atmospheres and in saline environments. Hypax 1230 AR also prevents corrosion from fingerprints. Hypax 1230 AR can also be used in emulsifiable cutting/machining fluids and in dewatering fluids.

Application
Hypax 1230 AR can be blended with oil/solvent to protect steel stored in areas of high humidity, salt spray or acid fume environments. Typical use levels would be at 5-25% dependent on thickness of film required. The addition of a hydrocarbon solvent and a small amount of butyl oxitol (Cas. No. 111-76-2) can help dewatering properties for a thin film temporary protective, which can then be easily removed with an alkali degreaser. Hypax 1230 AR can also be used in cutting or machining fluids and other emulsifiable compounds where further reaction with mono or triethanolamine can create stable emulsions.
Packaging
Hypax 1230 AR is available in 170Kg steel drums and 1000 litre IBCs or as required by the customer.
The recommended shelf life of this product is 2 years.
